Compentencies
Mays Business School follows seven competencies when working with students. Each competency has its own important feature that helps keep the business going. Here are my definitions of each competency and its importance in the business world and my personal life.
Communication
Communication is one of the biggest fundamentals in life. How do you expect to receive information coming from another person or company? Some type of communication is used to get data to the other person.

Business employees must have strong communication skills in order to help complete their work. There are different ways that data can be transferred and communicated. For example, there's a cellphone, emailing, mail through the post office and face to face conversations.
Leading
Leadership helps keep businesses together. Without leadership, how will work get done? Leadership involves people guiding one another through obstacles and changes that are made in the business. A factor that is big in leadership is trust. Without trust, how do you know the work will get done by that person. The leaders of the company must pay close attention to the type of people they hire and determine whether or not they'll be beneficial to their business.
Managing
Everyone has the capability to manage their lives. In the business world, managing is a skill everyone must have in order to help the business be successful. Business managers must be organized and administer their employees in order to keep the business on its path. The more organization a business has the better it will run.
Acting Ethically
Ethical behavior can benefit the business and build their customer status. Ethics are the principles that helps determine how a business should be ran. One of the most important guidelines business should have are codes of conduct. Having a code of conduct forces the workplace to be honest and fair.
Working With Others
Working alongside others will help build teamwork skills for both the business and individuals. When businesses collaborate with one another to complete a project and expand their brand, they're not only getting the job done, they are also building a connection with each other.
As some people say "teamwork makes the dreamwork."
Creating Opportunities
As the world continues to change, there are more and more opportunities for people to take advantage of. Creating opportunities allows both employers and employees to grow independently and as a business. The more opportunities a company has the more support they'll receive. Having a diverse employee system will allow everyone to have different opinions and ideas to help build a bigger brand and seek out possibilities of work the business can use.
Problem Solving
Problem solving is one of the main factors in the business world. In order to figure out what the problem is, employees must break down all its aspects first and then find the missing pieces. Once all of the pieces are found, then the problem can be solved.
